What's the difference between copyediting and proofreading?
Copyediting involves checking for mechanical errors, such as spelling, grammatical, and punctuation errors (and often includes some line-editing regarding flow, style, and tone).
Proofreading is the final check of the formatted document. This involves fixing any remaining surface-level errors, typos, or formatting issues. Proofreading is the final step that ensures your manuscript or document is mistake-free and ready for publication or submission.
